Average Scores by Level

Jason is a demanding body weight Hero WOD that accumulates 50 muscle-ups and 250 air squats. The ascending muscle-up rep scheme is particularly brutal — it gets harder as you get more fatigued.

LevelTime / ScoreNotes
BeginnerN/ASignificant scaling required
Intermediate30–45 minScaled muscle-ups
Advanced20–30 minRx or near-Rx
EliteSub 20 minStrong muscle-up cycling

Scaling Options

Scale muscle-ups to 2:1 pull-up/dip combinations or bar muscle-ups. The squats should be full range — don't rush them even under fatigue.

Strategy Tips

The last set of 20 muscle-ups is the hardest thing you'll do. Pace the squats to recover between muscle-up sets. Shake out your arms during the squats. Break the muscle-ups from the start — singles with no rest beat failed reps every time.
