The Girls benchmark

Linda

Linda is a strength-endurance benchmark nicknamed the Three Bars of Death. CrossFit places the average near 15 minutes and recommends preserving the intended stimulus by finishing around 20 minutes or less.

The workout

Set up before the clock

Linda ideally uses three bars so loading never becomes part of the score. Use a spotter for the bench press and leave enough space to move safely between stations.

Pacing strategy

Avoid bench-press failure. Break early if needed, keep deadlift mechanics consistent, and consider quick singles on squat cleans. The descending ladder rewards patience through the first four rounds.

Scaling options

CrossFit's intermediate loads are 1.25 x bodyweight deadlift, 0.75 x bodyweight bench, and 0.5 x bodyweight clean. The beginner version starts at 8 reps and uses lighter bodyweight percentages.
